Santa's Fun Run 5K & Kid's Dash Returns to Le Mars for a Festive Holiday Tradition

Le Mars, IA (September 28, 2026)— Lace up your running (or walking!) shoes, grab your favorite holiday attire, and join the community for the Santa's Fun Run 5K & Kid's Dash on Saturday, November 28, 2026, in downtown Le Mars. As part of the beloved Christmas in Hometown Le Mars celebration, the event combines fitness, family fun, and holiday spirit in one memorable morning.

Organizers gratefully acknowledge the Le Mars Hotel/Motel Sales Tax Grant Committee for its funding assistance in support of this community event. Their partnership helps enhance holiday programming and encourages visitors to experience all that Le Mars has to offer during the Christmas season.

The annual event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Participants are encouraged to embrace the festive atmosphere by dressing in Santa suits, ugly Christmas sweaters, festive socks, or other holiday-themed attire for a chance to win special Best Dressed prizes.

The Kid's Dash begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 10:00 a.m. Both events will start and finish near the Olsen Cultural Event Center, located at 33 First Avenue NE, Le Mars, Iowa.

"We're excited to welcome families, friends, runners, and walkers to celebrate the season together," said Jacque, CEO of the Le Mars YMCA. "Santa's Fun Run has become a wonderful holiday tradition that brings people downtown to enjoy the spirit of Christmas while staying active and supporting community events."
